Cascina Valentino

The reason for this name is unknown and we can assume that it is a fresh name due to the beauty of the landscape, which from here can be enjoyed with the hills all around and with a view of the distant town of Cocconato. The name "Valentino" is mentioned for the first time in 1720 in the local land registry as a small house had been built in this place, inhabited by a salary worker from the castle of Roatto with his family; he had to provide for the processing of about four days of vineyard, while the remaining seven owned for lawn and agricultural land, were aggregated to the farm of the neighboring mill. The original nucleus included a stable, a kitchen, a bedroom on the upper floor, on the facade of the house there was a white grape vine or lignenga and a sundial. In 1870 the house was renovated, underwent a second renovation in 1926 and the housing part was enlarged
